Reiki Level I - A Japanese method of universal energy healing that uses energy channeled through a practitioner's hands to restore health and a sense of well being. This is a 1 day 8 hour workshop on the Usui System of Natural Healing held from 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.  In Reiki Level 1 you will learn the history of Reiki, principles of Reiki, what Reiki can do for you as well as others. You will be introduced to Reiki techniques such as hand positions for treating yourself and others, as well as the knowledge and experience of Reiki and the attunement process initiations.  The attunements are what give you the ability to channel Reiki, which sets this apart from other hands on healing methods. The main focus of Level I is self-healing but gives you the ability and direction to help others as well. You will gain an understanding of energy, energy layers, chakras and the use of affirmations.  You will be given a brief introduction on how you can enhance your Reiki treatments by incorporating other forms of healing energy such as the healing sounds of music, colors, crystals/stones, flower essences and essential oils. 

All students will give and receive a complete healing treatment.  The cost of this class is $175.00, which will include a 49-page book, Reiki Level I attunements and a certificate for Usui-Tibetan System of Natural Healing on the last day of class.  Private training offered as a 6 hour class.  The cost is the same for this personal one on one training.  NCBTMB approved Continuing Education Hours = 8

Reiki Level II
This is a 1 day (8 hour) class for those who have already completed Reiki I and are ready to take the next step to begin practicing Reiki on others or those on an accelerated spiritual path for enhanced self transformation.   Classes are typically held from 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.  The Reiki Level II attunement allows you the use of keys or symbols to intensify the Reiki healing energy. You will learn techniques for Mental Healing, Distant Healing and St. Michael's Sword Technique. A brief introduction will be given on other forms of vibrational healing such as the healing sounds of singing bowls, crystals/stones, colors, flower essences and essential oils. These can be used to enhance the energy of your Reiki healing sessions. All students will give and receive a Reiki healing treatment.  The cost of this class is $250.00, which will include a 42-page book of all you will learn including the symbols with a detailed description of each, a Reiki Level II attunement and a certificate for Level II Usui-Tibetan System of Natural Healing after passing a test on the 3 symbols. Reiki Advanced Training
This is a 1 day class from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. that offers you training in the practice of using the Usui Master Symbol. This is the first step in becoming a Reiki Master Teacher if your choice is to go onto the next level. You will have a greater understanding of the introduction of Reiki to the West and how to trace back your lineage to Dr. Usui. Using the William Lee Rand Reiki Master Manual, you will also learn additional tools and techniques while channeling Reiki as well as using the Usui Master Symbol. These techniques include: Reiki Moving Meditation, Reiki Meditation & Manifesting Goals, Using a Crystal Reiki Grid and Aura Clearing (Psychic Surgery).  We will practice a Native American Smudging before the attunements and a four-direction blessing as we practice all of the symbols. The cost of this class is $400.00, which will include a booklet on the information you will learn. You will receive 2 Reiki Advanced attunements and a certificate for the Advanced Reiki Level in the Usui-Tibetan System of Natural Healing.  NCBTMB approved Continuing Education Hours = 7  Class Dates: Friday April 23, 2010 / Friday June 4, 2010 / Friday December 3, 2010

Reiki Master Training
This is a 1-day class from 9 a.m.  - 6 p.m. that offers you the training you require to be able to give Reiki Attunements. The attunements given in this class completes you as a Reiki Master. You are not required to teach at this level. If you choose to teach Reiki, this is the first step in becoming a Reiki Master "Teacher". It is suggested that you attend at least one or more Reiki classes as an assistant with your Master Teacher if you plan to "Teach" Reiki classes. We will be using the Reiki Master Manual by William Lee Rand for your master training. The class will begin with a review of the advanced level. You will study and learn to use the Tibetan Master Symbol and the Fire Serpent Symbol used in attunements and how to give attunements in all levels of Reiki as well as how you can use these symbols in your healing treatments. Other techniques include: Reiki Master Meditation, Using the Antahkarana Symbol, A Reiki Master Attunement Exercise, The Violet Breath and how to give a Reiki Healing Attunement.

We will practice a Native American Smudging before the attunements and a four-direction blessing as we practice all of the symbols. The cost of this class is $400.00, which will include the Reiki Master Manual Including Advanced Reiki Training by William Lee Rand from the International Center For Reiki Training. You will receive 2 Reiki Master attunements and a certificate for Level III Reiki Master Training in the Usui-Tibetan System of Natural Healing. Karuna Reiki® Master Level Training

This class is for those that have completed the Usui Reiki Master Level and have been actively practicing both treatments & attunements for at least 6 months prior to attending this class.  Karuna® is a Sanskrit word that means compassionate action.  The kind of compassion that when combined with wisdom can take one to enlightenment.  Once on this path to enlightenment, one is compelled by the great unconditional love that has grown in their hearts to turn their attention toward reducing suffering and helping others to become enlightened also.   In the same way that you would want to heal your own wounds, you would also want the wounds of others to heal. It is also stated in the Buddhist literature that Karuna must be accompanied by prajna or wisdom in order to have the right effect.  Karuna® is the motivating quality of all enlightened beings who are working to end suffering on Earth.  They continually send an unlimited amount of energy and guidance to us. As you develop Karuna in yourself, not only are you helping others, but also become more receptive to the Karuna Reiki® that is being sent by all enlightened beings thus quickening your healing process.  Karuna Reiki opens you to work more closely with all enlightened beings.  This includes those enlightened beings who are physically present as well as those in spirit.  

Karuna Reiki® brings in healing energies that are noticeably stronger and able to more quickly heal a wider range of difficulties.  Many experience the energy flowing not just through the body but completely surrounding them and moving toward it's recipient.  When taking the Master Training Level, you will not only be a practitioner and able to use the energies for healing but you will also be able to teach and attune others.  This class offers 8 symbols that you will be attuned to.  Each of the 8 symbols bring with it a different frequency and a different way of helping the healing process. This work raises your energy vibration for your own path to enlightenment.  Karuna Reiki® symbols work to heal on a cellular level, heals past life issues, child abuse or other traumas, karmic issues, unconscious patterns, heals the shadow self, heals sexual or physical abuse issues, helps heal relationships, develops good habits, heals addictions, develops compassionate action, spiritual development, spiritual communication, heals chakras, mind clarity, manifestation, helps with creativity, communication, co-dependance, heals insomnia, heals fear & panic and can help bring peace and creates trust in life.  Both levels of Karuna Reiki® and both attunements will be given as well as instruction and practice on the use of all twelve symbols (8 Karuna®, Om, & 3 Usui Master Level symbols). You will be able to practice all levels of Karuna Reiki® (two practitioner levels and master level) after taking this class.  Lots of practice time is included for giving treatments, using the symbols and for learning the attunement process. We will also be practicing a Reiki meditation to be aware of and heal the Shadow Self and using chanting and toning with Karuna Reiki® .  You will receive a 45 page manual by William Rand which includes in depth descriptions of each symbol and each attunement process.  You will also recieve a certificate from me that is issued from William Rand's International Center for Reiki Training.This is really an exciting workshop and highly vibrational with the presence of so many Reiki Master Teachers.  This class for me was very enlightening & a life changing experience.  My Reiki sessions since have really taken on a highly heightened healing vibration.  I wish to share this experience with you. 

The cost of this 2 day workshop is $800. (discounted from $875.)   Swedish Stone Massage ^{SM 5-2001}
This hands on workshop combines the use of hot and cold stones with Swedish strokes. In this class you will learn how and when to use hot basalt stones or cold marble stones for relaxation, aches, pains, injuries, tissue repair and stress reduction. You will learn techniques with the stones such as trigger point work, Myofascial Release techniques, deep tissue techniques and vibrational sound therapy. You will also learn to identify the right stone for your techniques, how to make your own set or where to purchase your stones, how to heat your stones and stone maintenance. It is highly suggested to purchase a set of stones to use in the workshop, which will allow you to bond with them.  Massage Tables, Linens and Roasters are also required.

This class is from 9 a.m. - 6 p.m on the first day.  Day 2 is from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. The cost of this workshop is $275.00, which will include a 43-page book on the techniques, contraindications, concepts of thermo therapy, how to heat, cool and care for your stones. Each student will give and receive a Swedish Stone Massage. You will also receive a certificate in Swedish Stone Massage upon completion on the last day of class.  This class is designed for certified massage therapists/bodyworkers and spa technicians.  NCBTMB approved Continuing Education Hours = 15    Class Dates: Friday & Saturday May 21 & 22, 2010 / Saturday & Sunday November 6 & 7, 2010

Rainessence Reiki Massage Workshop ^{SM 12-2004}
This workshop is 4 hours hands-on training. Learn how to apply specific oils to the feet and on the spine as well as the full back area in a fingertip sweeping motion from the base of the spine continuing up to the hairline while working with the central nervous system.  These oils soften and nourish the skin as well as bringing about structural and electrical alignment. The re-energizing therapy works at bringing balance and harmony to all layers of the body: physical, etheric, astral, mental and causal (the human energy field). These techniques are believed to have originated in Tibet thousands of years ago and were used by the Lakota and Hopi Indian Tribes. This therapy combines the application of essential oils, hot stones, massage techniques, meridian energy connection techniques and Reiki energy work.  Oils used in this technique: Grounding Energy Balancer (8 oil combination), Wild Oregano, Thyme, Basil, Cypress, Wintergreen or Birch, Peppermint, Marjoram, Purify (8 oil combination), Spiritual Peace (8 oil combination). Individuals may still take this class if you are not attuned to Reiki or certified as a massage therapist. This technique can also be combined with Foot Reflexology.

You will receive a booklet describing these techniques and information on each oil used. The cost of this class is $150.00 with oils provided by the instructor. Each student will give and receive a Rainessence Reiki Massage while being guided by the instructor.  A Rainessence Reiki Massage Essential Oil Kit can be purchased in 5ml bottles for $150.00.  If you purchase the kit from Health and Healing Zone to use in the class, your class fee will only be $100.00 (this is a total savings of $77.05 from both the class and separate oil purchases). Class size limited to 6 students with minimum of 2. NCBTMB approved Continuing Education Hours = 4

Sounds of Healing Workshop
This is an interactive class allowing you to experience sound healing through various methods.  Enjoy the chance to feel the vibrations of a singing bowl and take "a moment out of time that offers a release from the distractions and stresses of the outside world."  Tuning mind, body and soul, healing can be acheived by restoring the normal vibratory frequency of the disharmonious and dis-eased part of the body.  Learn how to use sound as a complimentary therapy in the form of singing bowls such as metal Tibetan bowls, quartz crystal bowls, Tingshaws (Tibetan Healing Bells), bells, chimes, tapping stones or crystals, rain stick, gongs, Chinese Exercise Balls, tuning forks, chanting, drums and music.

Each chakra of the body is associated with a specific tone and color.  When sound and vibration are applied to it, the chakra or system will open and balance itself forming a clear channel of energy.  This workshop is for you to learn how to apply sound for healing as well as experience it's wonderful vibration.  A demonstration will be given on a "sound bath" therapy using several of the above sound instruments.  Each student will get a chance to experience a short sound therapy demonstration as we learn about each vibrational sound listed above and how to use those sounds to heal yourself and others.  As time permits I like to include a session for each individual to experience a "name" sound therapy.  A 21-page booklet is included with a brief explanation of all the vibrational sounds, how to play and apply them.  This booklet will describe how to find your own personal life song. NCBTMB approved Continuing Education Hours = 6  Class Dates:  Saturday March 13, 2010

Reiki Stone Therapy^{SM 2001}
This class if for all those already attuned to Reiki on any level.  Reiki Stone Therapy incorporates Reiki with the stategic placement of hot and/or cool stones or crystals to the body to promote healing.  The combination of these two energy therapies accelerates and enhances your healing process working with the physical, etheric field and beyond.  Learn how to combine these two therapies along with chakra & energy field balancing.  A brief introduction to aromatherapy, flower essences and the healing sounds of music will show you how to incorporate these to further enhance the vibration of your Reiki Stone Therapy.  

This is a 1-day class from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.  The cost of this class is $250., which will include a 55-page book on the techniques, concepts of thermo therapy, how to heat, cool and care for your stones.  Each student will give and receive a Reiki Stone Therapy.  You will also receive a certificate upon completion of this class for Reiki Stone Therapy through the Usui System of Natural Healing.  You may receive a Reiki attunement at the end of class.  Be prepared as you may need to bring stones, roaster and massage table as well as other supplies needed for each work station.        ^{Greetings Reiki Practitioners:  As promised I will be holding twice a year a Reiki Assemblage.  This will give all of you the opportunity to connect to other Reiki Practitioners and perhaps join once again with previous classmates. Bring your business cards and brochures if you have them as this is a great opportunity to network.}

We are always happy to add more class dates or to schedule our popular flexible week day private training for selected classes. Most classes are taught in Appleton Wisconsin unless stated otherwise. I am willing to travel anywhere in the US.  Dates of classes are subject to change. About Your Instructors:
Susan Cossette is approved by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB) as a continuing education Approved Provider.  She has been in the massage therapy field since 1998.  She received her professional massage training at the Fox Valley School of Massage and opened Health and Healing Zone in April of 1999. She has completed over 2,000 hours in classroom training, study and teaching in various therapies and healing techniques.  Susan completed her Reiki Master Training from Teri Johnson on April 1, 2001.  Her master lineage is from William Rand who was trained through 2 of Hawayo Takata's original 22 masters as well as 2 of the Japanese lineage of Dr. Mikao Usui.  Susan's passion is teaching Reiki and working stone therapy into all of her healing modalities.  Her latest journey has lead her to complete the Karuna Reiki Master Level Training with William Rand on July 12, 2009.  She looks forward to offering Karuna Reiki classes soon. 

Prior to Susan's alternative health training, she completed 2 years of Business/Marketing at UW Eau Claire and NWTC.  She worked in the operations/bookkeeping dept. at Bank One for several years, took time off to raise twin boys and decided to venture out of the corporate world.  Her inspiration came after her neck injury was helped by massage and alternative medicine as well as reading 8 Weeks To Optimum Health by Andrew Weil, M.D.  Family and friends encouraged her to become a massage therapist as she was always comforting shoulders and feet.  Teaching was something she immediately knew would follow as her excitement grew with each new therapy she studied.  She enjoys sharing information and hopes these classes will help you on your personal transformational journey to health and healing.

Susan values time spent with her family, husband Jim and twin sons Jacob and Eric.  She is a busy mom attempting to attend as many of their soccer, wrestling and football games as possible. Her sons are pretty awesome on guitar as well. She will continue to be as flexible as possible to schedule classes and appointments for therapies.  Thank you in advance for your understanding.  Namaste'

Susan's husband James Cossette may occasionally join in on her Reiki classes as they both experienced their Reiki Master Training together in 2002.  He was the inspiration for the addition of sound healing to the Reiki classes.  He comes from a background of playing with a band and as a sound technician for area music venues.  He left the corporate world of many years at Plexus to not only be involved with Health and Healing Zone but to follow his dream and create Red & White, Wine Merchant and Tasting Venue on Appleton's east side.  We were excited to offer this cutting edge original concept in the Fox Cities and have both enjoyed 6 sucessful years of owning and operating Red & White.  As of October 2009 we are excited to venture into a new direction.
